In order to solve the problem that yarn breakage can not be found in time during the spinning process and improve the production efficiency of the textile enterprises,on-line detection device for ring spinning yarn breakage based on infrared sensors was designed.The devices include an infrared sensor,a dual operational amplifier and a microcontroller control module.18.2 tex cotton yarn was spun on ring spinning frame,and yarn breakage was detected with the proposed device.The experimental results show that the device can convert the spinning balloon signal into electrical signal,and then through the processing and judgement of the microcontroller control module,on-line detection of the yarn breakage can be accurately realized.In order to verify the adaptability of the cotton yarn,the cotton yarns of 5.8tex,9.7tex and 18.2tex yarns were tested.The results show that the device can achieve on-line detection of most yarns on the market.
