This article reviews that MDA cancelled the space－based laser integrated flight experiment program and its impact . The reasons were analyzed by means of present american military requirements and the technical and operational problems in the space－based laser itself . Finally , the possible replacement schemes of the Space－Based Laser system and the relay mirror technology were discussed.
