In the paper ,the state of art researches progress of high－density dual－layer optical disk was reviewed. The principle of recording ,the recording materials and the recording performance of dual－layer optical disk were given. A detailed and comprehensive overview on the problems ,which are facing dual－layer optical disk ,and their solutions , were discussed. Several points that should be taken into consideration in the future research on super high－density optical disk storage in our country were presented.
