On the basis of Lidar equation and restrictions on Lidar , we are developing the Generic Lidar Model ( GLM) . The effect on Lidar system caused by changes in environment and system variables is analyzed and discussed in this paper. With the GLM , we present generic Lidar simulation software ,which is implemented on windows platform with VC + + IDE environment
