The main characteristics of IR thermography on temperature measurement and the development of infrared thermographic equipments are discussed. Applications of IR thermographic techniques on NDT&Eof materials and structures , thermal diagnosis of equipments , testing of structures and buildings , and prevention and cure of disasters are reviewed. The application prospect of IR thermography is expected.
