Modulation is a key technology in high-density optical disc storage. It can improve the density of optical disc and realize stable data reading. In the paper , the latest researches progress of modulation for optical disc storage was reviewed. The principle and performance of modulation were given in detail. An overview on the future of modulation for optical disc storage was discussed.
