Based on analyzing the features of SAR images , this paper presents a novel algorithm for automatic seg2 mentation of bridges in high2resolution SAR images according to the idea of detecting the targets along the edges of the image. At the same time , a search algorithm of medial2axis for rectangle2like region is proposed. The good seg2 mentation results are thus obtained.
