Image fusion is an advanced image processing technology.It can integrate several images of the same scene which cap tured by several different ( i. e. , features, time, resolution) sensors into one image. It iswidely used in the regions ofmedicine, remote sensing, computer vision, weather forecast, and military target recognition, etc. In the paper,some recent development of image techniques are reviewed and futhermore, the possible directions of futher research are pointed.
