The brief history of the research work ofNCR IEO is summarized and some personal experience on the early period is emphasized proceed from actual conditions at that time to fix the orientation of 11 th Institute’s R&D on solidstate laser technology; grasp the principal contradiction of moving targets detection and make great efforts on high pulse rate solid - state laser device; select proper breakthrough point and exert all our strength on laser range finding technology for ranges; exploit the success and extend the applications of high pulse rate solid-state lasers; strengthen the technical base to maintain power for further advances.a distinguish feature of our own has been evolved,and important contribution has been made for national defense and economy.
