After designing range gate generator with event mode,developing real-time control software,adopting high resolution event timer and using laser with 1 kHz repetition rate,2 mJ pulse energy,Shanghai SLR station successfully measures satellites and obtains valid returns that is two or three orders of magnitude more than routine SLR with 10 Hz repetition rate.This paper presents the implementation of high-repetition-rate satellite laser ranging and preliminary experiment results.
