Optical domes play a pivotal role in the military imaging systems for the airborne weapons.First,the design requirements and development process of the optical domes in the world are described simply.Second,the material processing,milling techniques,and experimental schemes etc.of domes are introduced in detail.Finally,the techniques development trend of domes design is analyzed briefly.The direction of the military optical domes design is discussed based on domestic and overseas techniques developments.
