It has last several decades that we use MCVD to make the optical fiber perform.The heat source is the hydroxygen burner.The electro-magnetic induction graphite heating FCVD is a new type heat source that appeared in recent years.If make analysis only theoretically,we can use FCVD to reduce the hydrogen impurity in the optical fiber,and to make the preform with a large diameter easily,but our experiment result shows that the fatal defect is that its temperature reaction speed is too slow,and that the soot particles accumulated inside the inner surface of the substrate tube is prone to volatilizing.That makes the taper length of the preform from FCVD obviously larger than that from MCVD.The productivity is greatly reduced by these factors.
