X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy is a method to make qualitative or quantitative determination of sample components.The work is done by analyzing the relationship between the X-ray absorption of the sample and the composition /components amount of the sample.It has advantages such as rapid analysis,easy sample preparation,wide range of elements to be analyzed,simple lines,less interference spectrum,morphological diversity of samples and non-destructive test etc.The article outlines the basic principles of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy,classification and system structure.It also reviews the application of X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy technique in the detection of heavy metal in soils and in elements detecting in agricultural products.The key problems of X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy Technique are analyzed and further research prospect of it is introduced.
