The square spiral photonic bandgap crystals (PBCs)can be amenable to the incorporation of planar integrated microcircuits for light within the large band gap.The band structures of square spiral PCs are calculated using numerical method to maximize PBG.One spiral PC structure with large PBG is founded.The envelope of the bandgap distributions and the effect of spiral degree of structure on bandgap are explored.
