According to the miniature requirement of an infrared search and track system(IRST),a scanning mirror for the airborne system was designed.The design effort includes material selection,lightweight structure and optimal support.By adopting finite element analysis technique,it shows that all the performance of the scanning mirror such as the eigen-frequency,the rotation stability and the thermal deformation meet the application requirement.It has been used in the airborne IRST.
