Based on the road map and the programs of the US navy′s laser weapon, the evolution of development strategy of the US laser weapon is analyzed. It is concluded that the US is shifting its emphasis on development and research of laser weapon from strategic application to tactical application, and the current development strategy focuses on actual combating.
