The particle rate equations and power propagation equations of thulium-doped lasers are analyzed.Pump light and intrinsic absorption are also considered in the propagation equations.For different fiber length,the distribution of the positive and reverse pump light and laser in the fiber are simulated with Matlab software.The relationship between output power and optimal fiber length is also simulated and analyzed by way of theoretical modeling.In addition,the effect of intrinsic absorption coefficient and dopant concentrations on output power is discussed.The laser power is the highest with the best optical fiber length.It is reasonable that intrinsic absorption coefficient is taken into consideration.Smaller intrinsic absorption coefficient has a higher maximum output power.The highest output power can be obtained when the concentration of the doping ions is optimal.
