Aiming at high computation and low compression quality of existing compression algorithm,an adaptive wavelet transform image compression algorithm based on energy distribution is proposed according to the energy distribution features of the image. Through optimizing scanning method and wavelet decomposition mode the accuracy of the algorithm is improved. According to the size of the low-frequency sub-band disturbance value,the low frequency sub-band is quantified. Effective signal of the high-frequency sub-band is extracted by using the edge detection algorithm,which ensures the efficiency and accuracy of image compression. Experimental results show that the algorithms simulation results match the target and effectively prove the feasibility of the algorithm.
