In order to detect the center position and radius of laser spot precisely,the collected laser spot images were simulated and compared with MATLAB. According to the result analysis of image process,the optimal scheme was selected for the following image processing. Finally,according to the effect of the spot edge detection,a fitting curve was drawn and the boundary of the fitting circle was decided with LabVIEW. It solves the key problems of circle fitting method after binaryzation,such as the edge decision of laser spot image,radius calculation. Experimental results show that the improved method is feasible,and can provide a more accurate method for the detection of laser spot radius and other parameters.
