An infrared simulation method of ship target on the sea based on OGRE is put forward. According to three-dimensional modeling of ship target,infrared simulation on different imaging conditions and scene roaming function are realized by using OGRE rendering engine. First of all,the 3D geometric model of the ship was established and divided into different areas. The infrared radiation temperature calculation model of the target was built,and infrared textures of each part were generated. Then,considering the effect of atmospheric attenuation,atmospheric transmittance and atmospheric radiation textures with DDS format were created. Finally all the textures are transmitted to OGRE rendering mechanism,to complete the scene rendering and roaming function. The infrared simulations for ship target under different time and view distances were done. The results show that this method can generate 3D infrared scenes under the different imaging conditions,which meets real-time requirement,thus it has a certain application value.
