In order to improve the quality of optical communication,the MIMO system is used to replace the SISO system. Firstly,MIMO system was compared with SISO system by using the intensity fluctuation model,then the key performance indicators of three typical MIMO system and SISO system were compared under the existing technical conditions,and then the 4×4 MIMO system which has a better comprehensive performance was selected for the further simulation of optical communication. The results show that the 4×4 MIMO system has clear eye diagram,lower bit error rate and proper power gain,and its key performance is significantly improved compared to the SISO system. These indicate that the communication performance of the system is reliable,and has certain advantages in the field of optical communication.
