In order to synthesize high energy laser beam in engineering,it is necessary to detect the high power laser spot center in laser synthesizer.According to the characteristics of the laser spot in the laser synthesizer,the two-step detection method is proposed to detect the laser spot center.Through the analysis and comparison of the current two-step detection methods,a new algorithm for laser spot detection is obtained by the computer simulation and experimental verification.The results show that the existing two-step detection algorithms are suitable for small target,small array,low power,ideal laser spot,but the proposed algorithm is suitable for real-time and accurate detection in the saturated and non saturated spots,which has practical value in engineering.
