Solar energy is one of the most abundant sources of energy on earth,but its energy density is so low to meet the need of pumping lasers.In the paper,a highly efficient sunlight concentration system is proposed,which is composed by a Fresnel lens and a three-dimensional compound parabolic concentrator(3D-CPC).With the help of the system,which is applied to the laser crystal,the solar concentration ratio is increased.The exit of the 3D-CPC is placed in one focus of an elliptical pump chamber,so the solar is coupled into the elliptical chamber,pumping Nd∶YAG laser media.By using the combination of 3D-CPC system and elliptical pump chamber,the laser power output of 6.2 W is obtained,and the light collection efficiency reaches 6.2 W/m2.
