Design of avoidance camera for Mars rover not only needs to meet the demand of imaging quality but also to consider the manufacturability.An avoidance camera with F of 15 and field of view of 180° is designed with four separated spherical lens.To achieve the high imaging quality and uniformity of illumination,a new lens is added to increase the free degree of design and to decrease the angle of incidence in image surface.In the optimization process,lens form parameters are used for constraints to push the stagnation of optimization and image quality of the camera is close to the diffraction limitation.In addition,the tolerances of avoidance camera are analyzed.The result shows that the optical performance of the camera meets the demand of Mars detection and hazard avoidance and its optical structure is manufacturable.
