Abstract:The advance of infrared up-conversion imaging is reviewed in this paper.Compared with general infrared imaging methods,the up-conversion imaging technique has a series of advantages,such as fast response speed,high sensitivity,and excellent noise characteristics.It is convinced to be a great potential technique by combining the frequency up-conversion technique with high-performance detectors in the visible spectrum region.In recent years,nonlinear frequency conversion techniques acquired great progress,which has promoted the research field on the up-conversion technique for infrared or near-infrared spectral imaging.In this paper,firstly,the principle of infrared up-conversion imaging is briefly studied,and then different methods to improve the conversion efficiency,spatial resolution,and field of view of the up-converted infrared image are introduced respectively;furthermore,some related research work of infrared up-conversion imaging is briefly described;finally,the development trend of infrared up-conversion imaging technique are prospected.
