A mid wave infrared panoramic optical system is designed,which is based on adopt equidistant projection object image relationships.In order to realize the staring imaging at a certain pitch angle in a 360° viewing range,we use a catadioptric optical structure where the field of view(FOV)is designed as 360×(-15°~ +50°).The proposed system is suitable for situational awareness in counter sniper detection and the other similar scenarios.
